 Jaspal S. Rangi

Born in India, Jaspal grew up in Toronto and Ottawa. Studied Anthropology and Philosophy at the University ofToronto, and Carleton U. in Ottawa.

While studying at Carleton, Jaspal worked at the National Museum of Man as an artist, contributing illustrations for books that dealt with the cultures of the Native People of Canada. This work was the impetus for the decision to study art and upon graduation in anthropology and philosophy he enrolled in art schools in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Florence, Italy. Graduate studies were completed in Basel, Switzerland.

Upon his return to Canada, Jaspal decided to settle in Montreal and establish Monsoon. Originally Monsoon was a textile art studio specializing in custom-designed fabrics for interiors and fashion. Since then Monsoon has diversified into the areas of corporate art and corporate gifts.
